THE PROJECT
The project “Mobile game for cognitive skills development and concept teaching for adults with intellectual disabilities” (acronym “Game4CoSkills“) aims to develop an e-game for the development of cognitive skills and the teaching of concepts for adults with intellectual disabilities to be used individually or in groups.
The project was approved by the Erasmus+ National Agency in France in the framework of the European programme “ERASMUS PLUS KA220-ADU ERASMUS + – COOPERATION PARTNERSHIPS IN ADULT EDUCATION”.
ObJECTIVES

To recognize the target user’s characteristics, learning needs, and accessible learning objectives. R1 will contain learning objectives and training schemes for cognitive skills development and concept teaching scenarios.

- To describe the requirements, scenarios, instructional methods, training needs, objectives, methodologies.

- To develop the assessment tool for trainers to apply pre-test and post-test to follow the progress of adults with intellectual disabilities in cognitive skills development and concept learning.

To present a concise summary of information that can help readers understand the success of the project activities and provide conclusions and recommendations about government policies for the innovative teaching methods of cognitive and concept teaching for people with intellectual disabilities.

- Trainers of adults with intellectual disabilities
Kick OFF MEETING
The Kick-Off project meeting took place on the 6th of January 2022 and was held virtually online due to Covid- 19 restrictions.
Partners introduced themselves and their organisations, starting a discussion on project development and the projects results.
The partners agreed on next steps and actions to be taken.
RESULTS
The project involves the realization of the following 4 RESULTS:
- “Cognitive skills development and concept teaching scenarios “.
The essential purpose of the “Cognitive skills development and concept teaching scenarios” is to recognize the target users’ characteristics, learning needs, and accessible learning objectives. It will contain learning objectives and training schemes for cognitive skills development and concept teaching scenarios. The result is based on a research to be applied to 50 trainers of adults with intellectual disabilities in each partner country, a national report on the results of the aforementioned research and the subsequent definition of the applicable teaching scenarios.
The essential purpose of the “Mobile game for cognitive skills development and concept teaching” is to choose and improve suitable categorized mobile games on colour, memory, math, accuracy, logic, dexterity, multitasking and attention to details.
- “ Trainers’ toolkit “.
The essential purposes of the “Trainers’ toolkit” are:
- To describe the requirements, scenarios, instructional methods, training needs, objectives, methodologies.
- To develop the assessment tool for trainers to apply pre-test and post-test to follow the progress of adults with intellectual disabilities in cognitive skills development and concept learning.
- “Policy recommendation report”.
The essential purpose of the “Policy recommendation report” is to present a concise summary of information that can help readers to understand the success of the project activities and provide conclusion and recommendations about government policies for the innovative teaching methods of the cognitive and concept teaching for people with intellectual disabilities.
